Ka Nyoung Yoo

Ka Nyoung Yoo is a vocal coach and master class pianist, contributing her expertise to Towson University’s Voice Division and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She earned her Master of Music degree and Graduate Performance Diploma in Ensemble Arts/Vocal Accompanying from The Johns Hopkins University Peabody Institute, where she received a Merit scholarship and graduate assistantship for the opera department. Under the guidance of Eileen Cornett, she honed her skills and participated in master classes led by Martin Katz, Graham Johnson, Margo Garrett, and Rodger Vignoles. She currently serves as the music director at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church and as pianist for the Washington Korean Ensemble. Additionally, she is an artist member of Baltimore Musicales and Baltimore Concert Opera. Since 2010, she has been a dedicated faculty member of the Peabody Young Voice Student Summer Workshop, showcasing her commitment to education. Born in Yeosu, South Korea, Ka Nyoung Yoo commenced her piano studies at the age of 6. She graduated with honors from Hanyang University in 2004, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Minsuk Kim and Mikyung Yoon. Throughout her undergraduate years, she served as a school pianist and opera accompanist, securing a scholarship for her exceptional contributions. She holds a teacher certification for middle and high school students, further highlighting her commitment to musical education in the Maryland area.
